Most of us don’t need more information. We need maps that make sense of our inner world — and tools we can actually use when life gets overwhelming. 

After nearly 20 years helping people change their lives — and over 10,000 hours with clients and groups — I distilled what consistently works into this nervous system regulation course. Alchemy of the Inner World blends science and story so you leave each week not just ideas but with embodied skills.

What You Will Learn

Integration + practice

Learn, apply, repeat. Real change doesn’t come from ideas alone — it comes from practising tools in real life until they become second nature. Each week you’ll try things on, notice what works, and gradually build a personal toolkit you can trust.

Creative + playful

Metaphors, poetry, and diagrams to make it stick. Healing and Evolving yourself doesn’t have to be heavy. Story, imagery, and a touch of humour make complex ideas feel light, memorable, and usable — even in the middle of stress.

Evidence + tradition

Polyvagal, IFS, Attachment, Mindfulness, Somatics — with Self at the centre. This course weaves science with wisdom traditions: clear models of the nervous system alongside practices refined over centuries, all pointing back to your capacity to return to Self.

Community

Steady, supportive group learning. You’ll be part of a small group moving through the journey together — learning, reflecting, and practising in a space designed for safety, honesty, and encouragement.

 

The Journey

Week by Week

Week 1 - Mapping the Inner Terrain

Learn to recognise your inner states with clarity and compassion. We will map the “landscape” of the nervous system and develop emotional literacy so you can spot triggers and glimmers more quickly. This foundation gives you a language for your inner world and a sense of safety as you begin the journey.

Week 2 - BioRhythm Restoration

Discover the hidden dials that regulate your wellbeing — rhythms of rest, food, movement, sleep, nature, and connection. You’ll experiment with small, practical adjustments that restore balance and make daily life flow more easily. When these rhythms are tuned, everything else becomes lighter to carry.

Week 3 - BioState Navigation

Understand what’s happening in your body and brain when you’re stressed, anxious, or shut down. You’ll practise tools from Biostate Navigation to steer your system in the moment, moving from reactivity to responsiveness. This week is about learning how to shift, soothe, and steady yourself.

Week 4 - How We’re Shaped

Explore how family, culture, and early experiences moulded your “clay.” You’ll see how protective patterns were formed and how they can soften again in adulthood. By understanding your shaping, you gain both compassion for your history and freedom to reshape your future.

Week 5 - The Pressure Cooker

Learn how stress accumulates and why coping strategies develop the way they do. We’ll map your own pressure-release valves with kindness, identifying what helps and what hinders. This week gives you tools for emotional clarity and new ways to let off steam without burning out.

Week 6 - Returning to Self

Meet the many parts of yourself with curiosity and care — from the vulnerable child to the protective voice inside. We’ll practise healthy “inner parenting” and cultivate connection to the Self: the calm, compassionate, playful core that is never broken. This is about coming home to who you truly are.

Week 7 - The Gift of the Mask

The roles we played in childhood — caretaker, hero, clown, rebel, invisible one — once protected us, but they also concealed our deeper essence. This week we explore how those masks were ingenious adaptations to secure love and stability, and how each carries a hidden gift within. Through the Nine Faces of Co-Dependency and the archetypes of Inner Child and Wise Adult, you’ll learn to see your patterns not as flaws, but as seeds of integrity, compassion, courage, humour, and creativity. Awareness is the sunlight that lets those seeds sprout, transforming survival strategies into gifts that enrich your relationships.

Week 8 - Foundations of Love

Every adaptation carries a seed, but seeds need tending to grow. This week we turn to the Five Pillars of Inner Parenting — Safety, Attunement, Soothing, Valuing, and Growth — as the ground of mature love. These are the ways we hold our own needs, so we no longer outsource them to partners, friends, or roles. Rooted in these pillars, relationships shift from co-dependence or independence into the balance of inter-dependence: reciprocal, boundaried, and free. Expect a pragmatic session where you’ll learn to embody these practices in daily life, bringing steadiness, nourishment, and Self-leadership into your relationships.

Week 9 - The Art of Repair

Conflict doesn’t mean connection is broken — it’s the crucible where trust can be reforged. This week we learn how to turn moments of rupture into pathways of repair using the Leave to Weave model. You’ll practise recognising when your nervous system is triggered, stepping back to regulate, and re-entering with clarity, honesty, and care. Through experiential exercises, you’ll explore how to take 100% responsibility for your 50%, how to communicate needs without blame, and how to weave agreements that strengthen bonds. Repair becomes not just fixing what’s torn, but deepening intimacy through the very places that once felt most fragile.

Week 10 - Be the Change You Wish to See

This final week is about living the work. Integration is not only about remembering tools, but about embodying them so they ripple outward into daily life, relationships, and community. Together we’ll consolidate your personal framework for resilience, explore how to stay steady when old patterns resurface, and create rituals of closure and commitment. You’ll leave not only with practices for returning to Self, but with the confidence to carry your inner compass forward — becoming the change you wish to see in your world.

Who This Is Not For

This course may not be the right fit if you are:

❌  In the middle of an acute mental health crisis and needing intensive therapeutic or medical support.

❌  Wanting a space for deep trauma processing or intensive personal therapy. This is not group therapy. While reflection and sharing are welcome, the focus is on learning and practising tools you can carry into your own life.

❌  Looking for a quick fix without engaging in practice between sessions.

❌  Expecting someone else to do the work for you — this is about shaping your own inner patterns through practice, not being “fixed.” (plus, you are not broken so don’t need fixing!)

❌  Seeking purely intellectual discussion. This is an experiential course: insights come through body-based practice, story, and rhythm, not abstract debate.

Arron Selby - Nervous System Regulation Course Teacher

Hi, I’m Arron Selby — a Mental Health Social Worker, certified Compassionate Inquiry practitioner, and somatic psychotherapist in private practice.

With over 10,000 hours of client practice, I’ve worked across trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and nervous system health — in rehab centres, psychiatric hospitals, community settings, and private practice. My background blends evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, neuroscience, mindfulness and HeartMath) with depth work (IFS, Compassionate Inquiry, Hypnosis, somatic work and spiritual traditions).

But beyond the qualifications, this work is personal. Growing up in the UK, I faced my own struggles with anxiety, depression, and addiction. Along the way, I found yoga, meditation, therapy, psychedelic integration, biohacking, and men’s circles — tools that slowly stitched me back together. What I discovered is that healing isn’t about finding a single magic practice. It’s about weaving them into a rhythm that your nervous system can actually trust. All of this underpins this Nervous System Regulation Course.

I’ll be honest: I’m far from perfect. I’m still learning every day, often from my own mistakes — and always from my teachers, my wife, and my three daughters here in Bellingen. They remind me (with love, humour, and sometimes chaos) that growth is lifelong, and joy matters as much as seriousness.

That’s the spirit I bring to this course: grounded, practical, trauma-informed… but also human, playful, and grateful. I’m not here as a guru with the answers, but as someone walking beside you — sharing maps and tools that have helped me and many others.

How big is the group?

The group is intentionally capped at 15 participants. That’s small enough for you to feel seen and supported, and big enough to feel the energy of learning alongside others.

Is this therapy?

No. Alchemy of the Inner World is not group therapy — it’s a psycho-educational, experiential course. You’ll learn tools, rhythms, and practices you can apply in your own life. Reflection and sharing are welcome, but you’ll never be asked to disclose more than you want to. If you are in acute crisis or need intensive support, 1:1 therapy is a better fit.

Do I need prior knowledge?

Not at all. Everything is explained step by step in plain language. You don’t need any background in psychology, neuroscience, or spirituality to benefit.

Will I have to share personal stories?

No. Sharing is always optional. Many participants find that listening and practising alongside others is just as powerful. Journalling and self-reflection are the main ways you’ll explore the material.

How much time do I need outside the sessions?

Each week you’ll receive a handout with practices to try. Most people spend 10–20 minutes a day weaving them into their routine. It’s not about doing more — it’s about building rhythms that support the life you already have.

What if I fall behind?

You can re-watch any class recording, and handouts are yours to keep. There’s no “falling behind” — the material is designed so you can return to it whenever you need.

How long will I have access?

You’ll have replay access for one year after the course finishes. Handouts and practice sheets are yours to download and keep forever.

Is this spiritual?

Yes and no. You’ll explore what many traditions call Self, Essence, or Beingness — but always in a grounded, body-based way. No belief system required. These qualities (calm, clarity, compassion, courage) are human capacities that emerge naturally when your nervous system feels safe.

Do I need to attend live?

Live attendance is encouraged because the group energy adds so much — but it’s not required. All sessions are recorded, and you can catch up anytime.

What technology do I need?

Just Zoom on a phone, tablet, or computer. A quiet space and headphones can help, but aren’t essential.

Is there a refund policy?

Yes. If after 3 days from the first weeks session you feel the course isn’t right for you, you can request a full refund. After that point, because spaces are limited, refunds aren’t available. If you are considering cancelling your place we ask that you contact us first to see if we can help with whatever is going on for you.

Can I claim CPD/PD hours?

Yes. Many participants use this course toward professional development requirements. A certificate of completion can be provided on request.

What if I feel uncomfortable or overwhelmed?

Don’t worry, this is a nervous system regulation course. So you’ll never be forced to share or do anything that doesn’t feel right. You’ll be guided to work at your own pace, with full permission to pause, adapt, or step back at any time. Safety and self-choice are foundational to how the course is held.
